Meeting at Our Old Adversaries at where it all Started.

Rewind 1 year back when we played our first match with the Grey lowly Uncles, we struggled and starved to a 1-1 Draw at Chua Chu Kang Secondary School where it was the Homeground of many CCKSianz Like Myself, Lewis, Xianxi, Chai, Zonghui and Zhen Quan. Fast forward 1 year down the road whereby there were many changes to the team and of course to their team also, we faced our old opponents and it was once again a hot headed match between the Low Uncle Centre Back and Chai. Nonetheless this time Chai did get the better of him by exchanging of blows with him but feuds aside, opponents managed to get a surprise lead when they broke the deadlock with 5 minutes to half time. The match started with Nigel on right back, fat and Jin in centre and Daniel At left back. Leading the team in attack were Xianxi and Kejang while supported by the midfield pack of Lewis and Jumain in Centre and Ah seng on the left and Willip on the right.
The equaliser came in the second half when simon unleashed a Deep cross into the penalty box only to have zonghui to receive it nicely and he need no second invitation to put it past the opponents goalie. The game was subsequently marred by some unsportsmanship play by the opponent but sad to say we didn't manage to get our lead goal.
However, it could be another lesson for us to show that we really have much to improve and if we don't focus and surge for greater hunger to win the game. We will really be on the receiving end when we go on to playing in the league... but lets not be affected but move on in our search to improvement... Lets work out something for the next game and together as a team we tide through this difficult period as a team...
Got some pictures but wasn't really much on the action on the pitch LOL....

Matchday 3 17/01/10 @ Jurong West Seconday : 7-2(4-0)

The waiting game against Simon ended when i finally gave in to blog this post. He's more patient in waiting for me to write in while i was just thinking i would have something to read late in this night when i usually can't sleep much before match days. So here i am reporting to you on the match and latest updates in the team.

Missing quite a few regulars in some kind of African nations cup duty and some injuries so we had a squad which was slightly on the thin side. Started with Saran in goal, Simon, Jin, ZhenQuan and Chai across the back. Seng and Taran in front of the full backs while Kejang and Lewis providing the ammo in the centre of the park. Up front the strong presence of Zonghui and Willip. Game started off well and the Whiners are not in a pleasing mood as Willip slid a ball through to Zonghui who continued his rich vein of form by netting in the first. The second soon came as Willip laid the ball back to Kejang who strikes the ball beautiful with power, swerve and unerring accuracy to put us 2 up. LimBei came in for Seng and soon got a penalty which gave Willip his chance to get his first goal from the team. It will be a confidence booster for the new dad. LimBei got the ball from the left again and brought the ball towards opposition while just laying the ball into the onrushing Kejang who turned and skipped passed 2 defenders before slotting the ball home from an almost identical position from his first. 4-0 at half time and plenty of promises fulfiled as the team were banging in the goals. Lewis was hardworking over the park and the defence was really playing well and snuffing out threats. The only down side was that we lost Taran to injury and it seemed real bad but we definitely would wish for his recovery and him to get back to the team soon.

Second half started at a slower pace and the team obviously slacked off. Asen pulled off a wonderful save despite seeing the shot late to push it out for a corner. We would want to see more of that from him don't we? Lewis extended our lead as he spotted the keeper off his line to lob it over the keeper despite keeper getting a late touch. Seng was wreaking havoc on the left wing with his runs and dribbles while plenty of good movement up front from the strikers too. One such combination saw Zonghui getting the ball down the right byline and laying the ball across goal for Xianxi for a simple tap in. Jin then decided to be generous and give a penalty away with a rash challenge but i believe it's for the score to rake up to what he wanted i guess(half time at 4-0 the discussion was that will we be like Chelsea to finish 7-2 after leading by the same score at half time). The goals came at the right times too as the penalty was converted and it was 6-1. Chai made it 7-1 after a loose ball rebounded and LimBei heading the ball to him as he skipped past 3 defenders cutting in from the left a la Messi to finish the ball into the bottom corner. Another lapse in concentration provided another consolation for the malay kids, despite Nigel's best efforts after covering much ground. We still appreciate that strong defensive effort. So 7-2 it ended as Chelsea did.

We got bad news as we lost another player through injury after the game as ZhenQuan injured himself and had to take injection for his back.

P.S. Taran and ZhenQuan please recover and get well soon! Eat and rest well. While the rest of the team please watch yourselves well too. We are not professionals...yet(maybe) so we would only get into trouble on our own if we get a serious injury. Play hard, but play smart and sensible too. We don't shrink away from challenges but we must avoid if we know our bodies are at risk. Not worth it at this point, take care boys!

Simon Ong

Season review was written by our dear Simon who didn't write anything about himself so i guess i will do the honours. 4 goals to his name, and of course numerous assists with his deep crosses from the right. Particularly remember 1 last minute match winner at Marsiling Sec which he wallop the loose ball with just enough venom and power to go through former team mate Jason. And no celebrations with respect to former team, enough said. Always trying to spot the runs of players upfront and top scorer Zonghui was main beneficiary of these passes. Our foraging right back always tries to do his best impersonation of Sergio Ramos and Dani Alves put together and of course not forgetting defensive duties in his wake. On the pitch always encouraging us on and never try to be negative and complain. Gets the job done.

Off the pitch our unsung hero. Weekly organisation of the matches, wasting money to sms and sometimes even given cold shoulder by us without replies, all despite his busy schedule and slightly difficult husband duties. Always picking those without transport to the game if possible, his efforts off field can't be faulted. And of course he does most of the match reports and is also the treasurer in the team. Such dedication deserves our respect and understanding and of course, applause. 3 Cheers to Annamon No.29!

Season Review for 2009

All The GOAL SCORERS.....

Zonghui: 30

Well deserving of the Golden Boot Award for our Ace Striker Who finishes the season with 30 goals to his name. 5 hat Tricks and his highest Streak of Back to back Scoring is 8 Matches all with his name in the Goal Scorer List. All Hail the Whining 11 Number 9....

Chai: 23

The Driving Force of the team with his Robust Play in the midfield Pulling the strings together. His Total of 23 goals were clinical in the team's spot in the top tier level. Most importantly is his leadership on the pitch guiding the players and week in week out performance earned him the Fan's Favourite.

Xianxi: 11

Our Fox in the Box Filipo inzaghi hit the back of the net 11 times throughout the season. Though there is a dent in his confidence in finishing we have seen an improvement in his play and he is working on his fitness to improve his play.

Lewis: 10

The MOST improved player of the season. Not a Field player in nature, Lewis has blossomed to become one of the Key players of the team with his incisive passing and ability to hold the ball. Despite his petite size, he has shown that he can stamp his authority on the pitch by choking up 10 goals to his name and his wonderful performance throughout the season for his maturity on the pitch.

Rixian: 10

Temperamental, Deadly, Penetrative.... Rixian has shown his capabilities as a full fledged utility player by playing anywhere the team requires him to be deployed.... Best Known for his accurate pass be it in dead ball situation or an on rushing ball... He has shown that he can turn games around with his penetrative runs, lashing long shots and swerving in deadly high ballls.... His 10 Goals are not pushover as he proved a point to the strikers that he is lurking just behind them in terms of the goal scoring department.

ZhenQing: 6

Our PR man can't stop doing his PR with fellow opponents. Deployed in all positions, Zhen qing has brought his Bulldozer mode to the pitch as shown. 6 goals to his name... He proved himself to be an asset to the team with his high workrate.

Ke Jang: 5

Still dancing with around with the ball. Often getting the negative feedback for his play. But his slick skills have been a critical addition to the team with the opponents going for him quite often he has been able to open up the opponent's play with his ability to hold the ball. 5 goals and he promises more goals will come from him.

Jumain : 4

Cool Calm compose Jumain is a midfield maestro with his compusure on the ball, his cool headed movement on the pitch and his calmness in the face of danger. He never fails to open up the width of the pitch with his accurate passing and suppports the attack and defence with his strong build and he is ridiculously comfortable on the ball. He had 4 goals to his name which is guaranteed of more for the next season.

Simon: 4

I had an enjoyable season.

Twelve: 4

Agility and pace together with work rate, Twelve has been often on the wrong end of the comments but has improved over the time and currently has 4 goals to his name.

Taran: 4

The dynamic midfielder plays an important figure in the Team's future plans as he cemented his position in right wing with a week in week out constant performance. His Deadly passing capabilities and his strong Physical Build is always a difficult aspect for the opponents to handle. And his surging runs down the flanks and crossess in are always a challenge to be be dealt with. This season, he managed to capture 4 goals dedicated to his name.

Ah seng: 2

Ah seng show what he could do on the ball with his mesmerising moves on the ball as he is never shy to take on the opponents on one to one situation. Hardworking and extremely good on the ball, he is bound to feature regularly in the team's built up to the next season.

James: 2

Guest Appearance

Jin: 1

The Wonder kid in defence showed his maturity in defence and has earned himself a 1 goal in his favour. He is strong in tackling and he needs no second invitation to send a crunching taackle to his opponents.

Kaidi: 1

Guest Appearance

Nigel:1

Nigel have been a constant feature for the team and he is starting to show signs as a quality player with his Hard man play style that is reminded of a certain Makelele. But he needs some improvement on other departments but his 1 goal has send a warning message to the world.

Jarel:1

Guest appearance

Zhenquan:1Our Bespectacled Centre Defender who performs a 5 star performance on his good day and on his off days... his spectacles falls off quite often. Then again he has shown his maturity in the game over the days as he improves his defensive ability and has secured his worth as a Key figure in the team. His 1 goal came through a Penalty kick but he has aimed to overtake our ace striker in the next season. we will see.... Lol....

The Unsung Heroes.

Daniel:

The Rock Of the Defence. Well known as the Energizer player in the team, his tireless run up down left right centre has been such a critical tool for the team be it in attack or defence that the team will somehow suffer when he is not around. And he is the only left back in the team that gels nicely into the position. Still yet to clinch his 1st goal.... Due to a Missed Penalty, but he has rescued the team on various occassions it is more important than Scoring goals.

Tian Jun:

Left Back, Right Back, the pint sized defender is not well known for his skills nor his pace but it is mysterious how he can win balls that is apparently impossible to get or tackles at times that wows you be it successful or not. Started off the season with much to improve, over the season he has grown to become a stable player that fits into either side of the defence although with much to improve, he is still a player to messed around with.

Ah FAT:

If daniel is a Rock in the defence, this Enormous Sized defender would be a Cliff in the defence. His over powering physcial attributes is what makes up for his lack of Speed. Winning balls and Keeping the Opponents at their bay is what he is fantastic at. And if there is a need, he will be more than glad to squash the opponent with his body. His defensive abilities and command at the backline is his critical contribution to the team.

Asen:

Our Young Goal keeper have had a torrid time and also illustrious 1 year career which sees him growing up to improve on his goal keeping abilities. there are times where he shown some howler but there are also times his courageous charge out to smother the ball saved the team from the ocean. As long as he tries to improve.... he will just get better...

Willip:

Although he hasn't score any, he has joined the team in time to be mentioned in the season's review. Having played a few games for the team he has shown his passion for the game with his level of commitment and his different dimension of play style that he can offer. Still in search for his first goal... he will be a deadly force to be reckoned with in the future.

Saran:

The latest addition to the team. The powerhouse in between the sticks, Saran can deliver the ball all the way to the opposite side of the pitch and he can keep the balls out. I am sure Saran will get some goals next season with his ability to send the balll all the way up onto the pitch.

This season we achieved the following....

Total Matches Played: 38

Wins: 22

Draws : 8

Loss: 8

Total Goals Scored: 133

Total Goals Conceded: 67

We had a great season... Next Season We will participate in the Leagues....

We want to have fun... But from fun we want to win something....lets have that in mind and Move on!!!

Gory Gory Whining Eleven.

2nd Game oF the Year 2010 @Fuhua Sec

After being away busy with work for so long, finally had some time to tidy up some administrative affairs for the team.

As usual we gathered at Fuhua our Home Turf only to be greeted by its lacklustre ground and Soggy Fields. We were dissapointed but it didn't affect mush of our play as we kick started the match with Saran in between the posts. Nigel at left back and Jin Accompanied Zhen Quan in Centre Defence. Simon deployed on the right.

Chai and Lewis Anchored the midfield while Ah seng and Taran were send to the flanks with Zonghui and Ke Jang Spearing the attack.

The midfield general's hard work paid off dividends when the ball was send to Zong Hui to put us up for the first Goal. There were however a few missed opportunities in which Zong Hui Failed to put the team further up ahead when he Over confidently blasted the ball into Row Z 8 Metres from Goal with only the Goalie to beat. Ke Jang was as usual in his balllerina mode dancing with the ball and got a dressing down from Chai. Saran was sending the through balls from the comfort of his own penalty box . Taran also had a few good chances but keeper did a good job to smother the ball from Taran.

Half time saw the introduction of Jumain to control the midfield in replacement of lewis and Xianxi. while the defence had a change with Daniel sitting in Left back in replacement of Nigel.

Defence was going through some poor communication but got better as the game progressed. Very cautious of moving the ball ahead... The Whiners constantly pile pressure on the opponents but wave after wave of attacks the score still stood at 1-0. It was until a cross from the opponent's right wing that came in and confused the Defence did the opponents manage to equalise.

Realising that the time is short... The Red Whiners push ahead harder than ever but things just don't go their way even the Trees were on the opponent's side when twice the corner taken by simon was taken down by the trees.

It was through another corner from Kejang from the opposite side of the Flank that met Jin's flailing legs to put the team up 2-1. Th match reaches its end as we heaved a sight of relief as we felt that this is one of the match that we should have won with more comfort.....

A good game and a good day for the Whiners...

First game 2010

Match was held at Regent Secondary which laid artificial turf across the pitch. Whiners had the wealth and health of players for this match with a staggering 19 players. Asen, Simon, Jin, Fat, ZhenQuan, Daniel, Tien, Taran, Nigel, Seng, Chai, Jumain, Kejang, Xianxi, Zonghui, Rixian, Willip plus new signing Weixiong.

A match of all the wrong reasons as the 4-3 scoreline reflected on goalkeeping and defensive errors of both sides. Both sides are pressing a lot and there is not a lot of room for passes. Whiners movement not good as usual as mistakes slowly crept in. Lots of dangerous play in defence as midfield didn't offer enough support. One such backpass rolled under Asen's foot and into the net. Straight from kick-off another bizzare goalkeeping error as the opposing keeper looked to have Zonghui's shot covered, afterall he shot it from just after kick-off but somehow the ball miscued off his hands and into the net. Zonghui still doing what he does best in the new year as he opened the scoring for this season. A lot of niggling fouls were given away just outside our area and not surprisingly we were punished by another soft goal, which went under the wall and past Asen. 2-1 soon became 2-2 as new signing Weixiong hit one of his trademark long shots but it was a bit on the softer side this time. Keeper got a touch but his bad posture sees him helping the ball in. It was half time in a while.

Whiners started on the wrong side in the 2nd half as the opponents scored from their first attack. A pass down the left and as usual their winger would cut back and cross with his right foot. Striker got a touch but straight at Asen who was caught offguard as the ball ricochet in off his body. Nigel put us back in the game with a stroke of good fortune as his cross from the left went in over the goalkeeper who was slow to react. Another set piece horror saw the whiners down by a goal again as the ball sail past Asen and trickled through tien's legs and into the net. There were excellent chances to equalise as Zonghui hit a freekick against the post and rebound falling to Xianxi who lashed the ball wide. A good through ball from Chai put Xianxi through as he close in towards goal but he chose to square back to Zonghui who did not get there ahead of the defender and the chance was passed up. The final whistle went and whiners started the year badly.

The last game of the year, one year team anniversary.

Venue was at yusof ishak secondary school where we previously lost a game the week before. Spirits aren't exactly high but at least everyone knows within themselves the need to step up a level. Of course the opposition wasn't strong enough to be much of a threat. Starting line up was Asen, Simon, Jin, Fat and ZhenQuan across the backline. Taran started as usual on the right wing while Chai move to his favourite role in the centre alongside playmaker lewis, while Rixian was playing on the left. Zonghui and Willip started upfront and your commentators and bench for this one, Jumain, Daniel, Xianxi, Kejang, Seng, Nigel and Saran.

With such a bench it keeps everyone on their toes and you have to be in the tempo of the game fast. Started off sluggish but as the game goes on the difference in class is obvious to see as the whiners overran the opponents in a first half blitz. Strange move that lead to the opening goal as ZhenQuan pushed up into attack and laid a pass just behind Rixian and he tried to put the ball into zonghui's path but instead deflect off a defender and into Taran who cut in from the right and latched onto the ball, odds on to score but not before a goalmouth scramble that Taran still got the final touch to. 1-0 and game on. Opponents were restricted to passes in midfield areas and long shots as Asen's goal was rarely threatened. Whiners went 2 up when Simon launched a crossfield pass into the pass of WHO ELSE but the top scorer as he took it on the outside of the his boot and flicked it pass the goalkeeper. Next up was neat interplay as ZhenQuan passed the ball out to Lewis and he sent Rixian down the left, in a move which he squared the ball across goal to WHO ELSE again and he applied the finish into the far corner. Rixian came out for Seng and Xianxi for Willip. Kejang took Zonghui's place midway through the first half. Chai was getting lots of the ball in the centre of the park as he attempts to spray the ball out. Simon too was getting a lot of freedom down the right with Taran also running through several times. There were several chances to extend the lead and just before Willip was substituted he placed the ball against the post in close range. Kejang made a funny fall chasing for the ball and he would do it again in the 2nd half. Seng sealed the first half with a strike after taking the defence all by his own on the left before cutting and finishing at the far post. 4-0 lead at the first half.

2nd half brought several changes with Nigel coming on, alongside Jumain, Daniel and Saran. The match was still very much in control and opponents rarely threatened still. With their long shots coming from even further out and Saran having a easy time. There was one incident though that when he got the ball the opponent still went out and slide at him. He just stared at him but he should really have finished it off with a people's elbow. The lead was extended when Kejang went through one on one and finished under the goalkeeper for 5. A throw in from the left and Chai and Kejang was running through side by side before Kejang either laid the ball back for Chai or shot at the keeper for the ball to ricochet to Chai to finish. Need clarifications on this one from witnesses and suspects involved. 7th heaven came as the move of the match as a corner was delivered and Zonghui retrieved the ball back in left wing position. He crossed into the path of Lewis who needed no 2nd invitation to sweep the ball first time on the half volley with his left leg. And just before the whistle, WHO ELSE sealed his hat trick when simon launched another cross into his path in which he took a touch and round the keeper to score. This way of attack has become all too familiar with this 2 players striking up some kind of understanding. 8-0 and a round-up to what has been a on-off first year for the club.
