Match 07 Review : 010309 @ Fuhua Secondary School

A rainy Saturday night rose a few doubts on whether the match could be played but all was well on sunday when the refree msg us that the match will go on. With a heavy heart of getting all wet and dirty , we departed for our match.

To our surprise it far surpasses our expected outcome as the pitch look squeaky clean following a downpour less than 8 hours ago. Our opponents are in light blue and they look a formidable team to beat. Due to our spate of good form in the last few matches, we don't get startled by our opponents.

This week we saw some new players plying their trade with us. Namely our new goalkeeper Anson...I am not sure of your name brother if i get it wrong please let me know. Our new Centre Midfielder Chris.... And a familiar face from our previous team....Ke Jang or usually people call him Ka Zhua. And a friend of Twelve, big sized forward Kai Hui.

The match started with new signing Anson between the posts. Defence was made up of Simon and an unfamiliar combination of Jumain and Rixian as the vanguard of the defence. Left back was taken up by tian jun. Chris and Lewis in the heart of midfield with chai on the left and right midfield was Taken up by Kejang. Striker was a pairing of Xian xi and Kai hui.

The match started and it was the same old story with Chai opening up the accounts again pushing his goal tally to "I haven't count how many". This time round receving the ball on the left and wham it pass the keeper making it his trademark finishing. Pure Class. Ke jang provided a different dimension to the play when deployed on the right. Dragging opponents to him and releasing the ball to his teammates. Lewis was enjoying his run out on the pitch as he felt much more comfortable with the players around him. Chris is winning the balls in midfield and kejang and Chai feeding him the balls he need. Rixian and Jumain provided the composed and calm security at the backline so much that there was totally no threat from the opponents at all. Xianxi got a few good chance but sadly missing a few sitters. Lewis also... A few good chance but failed to convert it. But its okay we can train on this.

Ke Jang played to his very best opening the play and provided much attacking options for the team.... By far one of the critical player of the day.... but sadly due to an overnight boozing session he was punctured before halftime. Daniel replaced him taking up the role at the back pairing with cool calm jumain. Rixian was sent to the right flank. With the midfield maestro pair of Chai and Rixian leading the attacks on the flanks, the opponents finding hard to pin down either of them. With efforts focus on the two dangerous wingers... lewis pushing the defence to sit back...an unlikely jumain manage to bring the ball high enough but he was friendly enough not to fire it in.

The opponents obviously staring hard at death decided to kill off our right back(simon) by inserting a female left winger into the squad. With her deployment in the squad, Simon was unable to unleash his malicious crunching tackle as it would spell broken legs. He became a bit reserved. However, it seems that she is not as bad as she looks as she managed to release a few "deadly" ball only to be smothered by daniel with ease. Daniel playing better and better with each match neutralize all attacks with a few simple twist and turn exhanging passess with jumain, simon and tian jun making the whole opponent's attack in-existent. It was obviously a good match with lots of passing space and clean passing.

2nd half onwards it became chai's game....Again.... This time round another sheer excellent class from him when he unleash a first time volley to an oncoming ball that rocketed pass the keeper at extreme velocity. opponents could do nothing but clap and be dazzled by such finishing. Rixian, Lewis and chai pulled all the strings in midfield and Chris winning virtually everything. Even if anything goes beyond midfield....Jumain and Daniel would just kill off any possible chance they might have. However, 1 such counter attack allowed them to pull one back when emile heskey brush daniel aside to score 1 for them. Anson could do nothing although credit to be given to him for being decisive enough to punch the danger balls away.

It was towards the final whistle when the opponents seems to be in search for the equaliser when chai took the ball on the outside penalty box and shot it with such power it was beyond the reach of the keeper. Unstoppable.

Chai securred the first hat trick of the team. I think everyone should not have any violent objections of him winning the inaugral Player of the Month. (please come to my house to collect your free gift for player of the month)

Regards,
simon
